This event is held in memory of WCA member Tony Robinson, who passed away in 2020. Tony was a popular member of the club, sought after for his sense of humour, his extensive knowledge of archery and his willingness to help anyone in need. He also had an incredible ability to weave bow slings in any colour, upon request.

The Tony Robinson Memorial Shoot was first held in 2022 in conjunction with Bandanna Day, where Waverley City Archers raised $150 for kid’s charity CanTeen.

This event is an ongoing shoot held every October, and is run as Tony’s favourite round, the Canberra. Only WCA members were eligible to shoot in the inaugural event. The 2023 shoot is open to all Archery Australia-accredited members.

Archers compete in this event under Handicap, Scratch Compound and Scratch Recurve (off-the-bow) divisions. The winner of this event has their name engraved on the Tony Robinson Memorial Shield displayed in the WCA clubrooms.
