The WCA Presidents Shield consists of four handicap events scheduled throughout the calendar year. Typically, one event is held per quarter. This event has been running since 1982. Archers shoot an age- and category-appropriate Canberra round. This event is open to all WCA archers with an Archery Australia handicap recorded in Archers Diary.
Shield medals are presented to the first, second and third placed archers (after the handicap allowance has been applied) at a subsequent club meeting. The archer who places first in each event has their name engraved on the WCA Presidents Shield displayed in the WCA clubrooms.
